This is the image for theme 92 of the 100 Theme Challenge. The theme is Rape, with the alternative theme of Balk, but I wanted to express something about this theme I thought was important. I hesitated to post this here, but I think the ideas are important and should be shared.
My work is usually cute or pretty or funny, but this theme is not. I wanted to show how a rape victim, specifically an incest survivor, would think and feel about looking back on how the abuse affected her life. It's not as clear cut or simple as it might seem at first glance.
The illustration is the pivot point of her life: telling someone who could help her.

Wow, That's very powerful. Pretty much the same think happened to me when I was very young, but it wasn't my dad, it was my mom's boyfriend(My mom & dad were divorced)
