Mages in flowing gowns

.. My Panda and Snowlemur pair again, this time in elegant gowns that I love to draw. The sweeps of fabric are so fun to draw. This piece has a particularly light and airy feel that really suits these wind and water mages. This is one of my favorite color schemes: blue, aqua and peach. The panda's dragonfly theme shows up well in this one, I think. Love the snowlemur's hair; there are so many subtle things I can do with the style and decoration.

It's from 2004, so sadly is one of my most recent. I indeed to actually draw this summer Missing Further Confusion this year left me a little under-motivated, but I need to get ready for next year.

I used Pigma Micron 005 for the inked outlines, Prismacolor and Lyra Rembrandt colored pencils for the color, white gel pen for the texture and highlights, and silver gel pen for the wing veins. Ok, I lied in my last post: _This_ shade of paper is my favorite, a warm gray that really brings out fur color and contrasts well with blue. I scan the drawings into my computer, so that makes the colors a little smoother than they really are.
